Today was the last day of the semester and Shadrach performed wonderfully. One way I know this is because I have witnessed his brilliant albeit disorganized approach to school. Last night he had a math assignment that described a girl selling 8 bracelets for $4 each. He quickly said, “Oh that’s easy. It’s just 4 times 8.” When I gave him a quizzical look, he hesitated a little, but I assured him that he was right so he would proceed. I was confused because I didn’t know they had taught him multiplication yet. To my surprise he did the problem just right! So I asked if that was the way his teacher taught him to do it. To which he replied:
“Oh no! I just know it’s the easy way of doing math. You just multiply whenever you have to add in groups.” WOW!!! Do I have brilliant boys or what? He's absolutely right, you know!!!
